Hang-ON skimmer
Unter Hang On Abschäumern verstehen sich Abschäumer, die direkt an das Aquarium gehängt werden.
Dabei gibt es zwei Arten: Interne Hang ON Abschäumer werden in das Aquarium gehängt, während externe Systeme Außen an das Aquarium angebracht werden.
Der Vorteil dieser Abschäumer ist, dass diese keine separate Filterwanne benötigen. Diese wurden vor allem in den Anfängen der Aquaristik eingesetzt, als die Aquarianer noch über keine separaten Filterbecken verfügten.
Heute werden diese Abschäumer seltener eingesetzt. Allerdings bietet ein Hang ON Abschäumer den Vorteil, dass Süßwasseraquarianer ohne zusätzliche Anschaffung einer Filterwanne von einem Süßwasser Aquarium auf ein Salzwasserbecken umsteigen können. Oft ist der Hang ON Abschäumer damit, der erste Abschäumer, den ein Aquarianer einsetzt.
