Calcium Reactors

A calcium reactor stabilizes calcium and KH levels over the long term.

It supplies corals with vital minerals evenly and automatically. Compared to manual dosing, this saves time and effort in the long run. How does a calcium reactor work:

1. CO₂ is fed into a reactor chamber filled with coral rubble or calcium medium.

2. The CO₂ lowers the pH in the reactor, making the water more acidic.

3. This acid dissolves calcium and carbonate from the medium.

4. The enriched water is slowly returned to the aquarium.

Calcium reactors are very effective, especially with strong coral growth or in well-stocked reef aquariums. A calcium reactor is particularly suitable for larger, well-stocked reef tanks.
