External skimmer
External skimmers can be installed outside or inside the filter tray.
With external skimmers, the pump is always located outside the skimmer and can therefore be easily removed and cleaned.
External skimmers are independent of water level and therefore not subject to the effects of fluctuations within the filter tray.
For this reason, external skimmers usually require a separate feed pump.
